Gemini 3.6 Flash (gemini-3.6-flash) no longer requires opting in to global routing: it is now available through the LLM Gateway's regional endpoints as well, with no model_region: "global" override needed. When it launched on July 22, Gemini 3.6 Flash was only served via model_region: "global". Requests can now omit that setting to use region-locked routing.
