- Gemini takes tools with full JSON Schema. A request to a Gemini or Gemma model failed with "Unknown name additionalProperties" when a tool's parameters used
additionalProperties,$refor other JSON Schema that Gemini's older tool format doesn't accept, as many MCP servers' tools do (JetBrains AI Assistant's own IDE tools among them). Tool schemas now go to Gemini as JSON Schema, unchanged.
